Progress

I love playing WoW. Many of my friends do or did. No, it doesn’t help meeting women, but I’m not exactly out on the market. I’ve been playing for and hour or less a week for a while now (since starting this), but that’s okay. As I get faster, I’ll start expanding my repertoire of evening activities.

I am getting faster at doing the basic images and other step in producing a comic. The two hand-drawn images only took me twenty minutes or so. The secret is scale. I’m drawing bigger.  In fact, I reducing by more than 100%. That’s okay, the problem is the cost of paper over time. I’m still working the learning curve, though. Photoshop still blows my mind. One of things I am happy about is my trackball speed and keyboard shortcuts. I will be switching to one of those pen/touchpad things, but that’s going to take getting some loot.

The hard part of this comic was actually the writing. I had a clear concept of what I wanted and there are several directions I can take this idea, but the problem was the exact verbiage and what I can or can not do. I don’t think I’ll be posting many more prayers, but the concept of an opening prayer before WoW battleground is funny. The particular battleground is a meat grinder and on the server I use most often, we never win.

Independence Day

When I was a kid and a young parent, this was my favorite holiday. I love fireworks; shooting them and watching them. It’s been quite a while since I’ve done so, however. I don’t mind so much, but I hate seeing a tradition fade away. Today I went to my parents with Rob. Andy is in Michigan and Uhn-ha is in California. Andy called. That was great. He is working hard and is struggling with how life works, and that makes me happy. Uhn-ha and I swap facebook posts. I love her very much and miss her. Facebook is fine, but barely sufficient. Still, it’s my fault. She tried to call and text and I never responded.

It was a nice family get-together. We talked about the two brothers that are pissing mom and dad off. One has decided to divorce himself from the family and the other is being stupid. My mom is confused, because my dad has not told her everything (or anyone else), so she is also pissed. She also has most of it pretty figured out. She’s sharp. She knows a lot of the background that I don’t, but then again I don’t want to know.

The rest of the Forth went nicely. The food was great and there were some great laughs. I wish our family was not having issues.

Regarding the comic, I helped my best friend move. He bought a house in Lehi and is getting a home-owner’s ulcer.
